Terms and Conditions

These terms govern your use of Cutout: AI Background Remover for Android. Please read them before using the application.

Effective date: 9 August 2026 · Provided by KL-Imagine Developer · Application com.cutoutstudio.app

1. Acceptance of these terms

By installing or using Cutout you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the application.

2. Eligibility and age

You must be old enough to form a binding agreement in your jurisdiction and meet the minimum age required by Google Play. Cutout is not directed specifically toward children under 13.

3. The service

Cutout is a creative editing utility. It removes image backgrounds using on-device AI, provides Keep and Erase refinement brushes, allows transparent, solid-colour, blurred, or custom-image backgrounds, and exports transparent PNG files. Recent uploads may be kept in private local storage so you can continue earlier work.

4. Optional Google sign-in

An account is not required. If you choose Google sign-in, you are also subject to Google's terms for that service. Basic profile details may be stored locally to remember your session.

5. Your images and your responsibilities

  • You retain ownership of your photos and of the images you create with Cutout.
  • Cutout does not claim ownership over your images.
  • You must have the legal right to use every image you select, including any rights of people, brands, or works shown in it.
  • You are responsible for reviewing edited images before you publish, sell, or share them.

6. Licence to process images locally

You grant the application permission to read, process, and modify the images you select on your device solely to provide the editing features you request. This permission exists only to operate the editor and does not transfer any ownership.

7. Intellectual property

The application, its name, interface, graphics, and underlying software are owned by KL-Imagine Developer or its licensors and are protected by applicable law. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, or redistribute the application except as permitted by law.

8. Prohibited use

  • Using Cutout to create unlawful, harassing, defamatory, deceptive, or infringing content
  • Editing images of other people in ways that violate their rights or applicable law
  • Attempting to disrupt, decompile, or gain unauthorised access to the application or its services
  • Interfering with advertising, consent mechanisms, or security features

9. Advertising and third-party services

Cutout contains advertising served through Google Mobile Ads and uses Google's User Messaging Platform for applicable consent choices. It also uses Google ML Kit and, if you choose, Google Sign-In. These services operate under their own terms and privacy policies.

10. Google Play terms

Distribution of Cutout is subject to the Google Play Terms of Service and Google Play developer policies, which apply in addition to these terms.

11. AI segmentation limitations

  • Subject detection is automated and may not identify every subject correctly.
  • There is no guarantee that a cutout will be perfect, particularly with fine hair, fur, transparency, motion blur, or low-contrast edges.
  • Results may require manual refinement with the Keep and Erase brushes.
  • You are responsible for checking the accuracy and suitability of each edited image.

12. Availability and changes to features

Features may be added, changed, suspended, or removed as the application evolves. Some features depend on device capability, available storage, or an internet connection for model downloads, advertising, consent messages, and optional sign-in.

13. Exported files and local storage

You are responsible for managing exported files and local editing history on your device, including backups. Clearing application storage or uninstalling Cutout removes local history but does not delete images already exported into your shared Pictures collection.

14. Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the application is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. KL-Imagine Developer does not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation.

15. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, KL-Imagine Developer is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for lost data, lost profits, or lost images arising from your use of the application. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

16. Indemnification

Where legally applicable, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless KL-Imagine Developer from claims arising out of images you process, publish, or distribute, or from your breach of these terms.

17. Termination or suspension

Access to the application or specific features may be suspended or terminated if these terms are breached or if required by law or platform policy. You may stop using Cutout at any time by uninstalling it.

18. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as the application changes. The effective date above indicates the most recent revision, and continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.

19. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [GOVERNING JURISDICTION], without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory local consumer protections apply to you.
